German science fiction literature → German science fiction – This article already mentions films, and often talks about the genre; literature is not genre, it is a medium. For most countries we have a Fooian science fiction overview topic, not a literature one; in fact I can't find a single other country that has a Fooian sf literature article. While I generally agree with having a general science fiction article, the article mostly does talk about literary science fiction, making only passing mention of films. In my opinion, a move may be viable if the article is rewritten to reflect a more broad overview of the topic. SirBrahms (talk) 07:25, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

'Oppose. The majority of the articles you mention are very much focused on literature and only give a slight mention to other media, and the German one is almost completely about literature. This could be reconsidered if the article is rewritten to actually include more non-literary SF (although there isn't that much in German compared to French). @Kusma Ok. It is about feeling red links in regional overview templates (see ex. bottom of French science fiction). Good point about Austria, for now this can be a valid redirect. Is there much of a split between Austrian literature and German literature? I guess there is, given separate articles so technically Austrian science fiction literature and Austrian science fiction might be separate topics in need of articles, eventually? @Daranios _{Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here} 05:05, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Austrian literature" is a valid topic, but it is also a subtopic of "German literature", which usually means literature in German and which encompasses Austrian and Swiss writers (and also Germans of Romania like Herta Müller). Franz Kafka and Max Frisch are definitely important authors of "German literature" although they are not German. So there is no clean split and it may be generally better to sort things by language than by nationality. —Kusma (talk) 09:09, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
